Thanx, i see he signed the oath, almost all records on ms dept of archives are wrong when it comes to how they exited service, most say either discharged or Kia, and almost all give april 1865 as the exit month. Time and again i find this is wrong, as in this privates case. I always ask here, to determine the date of leave, and how "Oath, Kia, Discharged etc." As i want the correct info on the app. I bet there are thousands of wrong dates and reason for departure oath, kia, paroled etc. on SCV apps.

Since i discovered this with some of my ancestors last year, i always ask, and am amazed at how many places list the wrong date of departure and reason,Like MS DEPT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY. As commander i feel it is my duty to verify, and put the correct info on the app. and like i said before am quite shocked just to think how many apps are sent in with the wrong info by some camps. I have forwarded his info to prospective member Tommy Lowe, and asked that he come here and purchase his ancestors service record for his family and any future decendents.
