Elijah Jefferson Johnson is buried at Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church Cemetary in Panola county on Hwy 315, south of Highway 6.
He is my great grandfather. I have his canteen from the Civil War. He had children named, Clinton, Jesse, Truman, Phillip,Dee, Oscar ( my grandfather) , Lon Chamberlin, Emily, Josephine, Annie, and Rilla. He donated three acres for the construction of Pilgrims Rest Church, from part of his farm. I have a picture of him sitting on the front porch of the house, which is still standing.

His father was named Rowland, who fought in the Revolutionary War, in South Carolina.
