The 3rd Battalion was called the 33rd Mississippi (Hardcastle's) for a short period, then it became known as the 45th Mississippi Infantry. The 45th was consolidated with the 32nd Mississippi for a brief period in early 1864, I believe. That could be where the 32nd card was involved.
(going off memory here) When the 32nd and 45th were separated, the 45th was again called the 3rd Battalion.

The different 33rds used to confuse me, as Amite County had men in Companies B & K, 33rd Mississippi (Hurst's) which retained the number, but also had men in Co E, 3rd/33rd/45th/3rd, but I have that sorted out now in my records.
