I sure appreciate all the research you all are doing. Older family members tell me that he died sometime during the war, leaving a wife and small child. Is there any way you could search for pension records to determine when he died? His wife remarried in 1865. Her name was Amanda Elizabeth Braden. They were married Dec. 17, 1857 in Itawamba County, MS. They had a son, Solomon, born May 17, 1860.
