A first cousin of Wm Daniel Storment's wife, Jane Paden Storment, was married to John Aughey, a Unionist.
John Aughey was married to Mary Paden. He wrote a small book about the Civil War called 'Tupelo'. It is included in the website below:

I was told by a elder Paden cousin, now deceased, that this Rev John Aughey, long after the War, would rant at Paden family gatherings at how mistreated he was during the War. He was condidered a little strange, especially by this Paden group who were entirely Confederate.

It is interesting to read in his book how little he says when writing about his Father-n-law's home and mill (Alexander Paden of Burnt Mills, now called Paden, Tishomingo Co, MS) being burned out by the Union soldiers (See chapter IV). Aughey's wife resided there all during the War. After the War, Aughey moved back North.

Just thought some of you might enjoy reading Aughey's Unionist account of his Civil War experience in North MS. Remember this is a man whose wife's family and friends were all Confederate (32nd & 26th MS soldiers)!
