Francis Marion Storment was the brother of Wm Daniel Storment. Wm Francis was born in Chester Co, SC. I do not find a marraige for Marion Francis and believe he may have died unmarried. There was another younger brother, also in the 32nd MS Co H., John Dekalb Storment, who died at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain in GA 1864. I believe these were the only brothers of this family who were old enough to serve.

These were sons of James Madison and Rebecca McCullough Storment. The Storments left Chester Co, South Carolina with the McCullough family. Francis Marion and parents were in Tippah Co, MS by 1847, then to Tishomingo Co, MS by 1855. Other related Storments went straight to Tishomingo Co, MS from SC. The Storments lived in the Highland community of Tishomingo Co, MS, about 3 or 4 miles northeast of the town of Tishomingo. There is a J M Storment listed in the 32nd who could have been the father James Madison Storment, though if it was him, he would have been about 50 years old. Another possibility is that this was his nephew Madison Storment.

A brother to James Madison Storment, John S. Storment, died at a Union POW Camp in Allton, Illinois Jan 5,1864. (See Find A Grave website)

This Storment family had cousins in the 32nd and 26th MS.
