The Monroe Guards became part of te 14th Miss. Same company just a name change. http://mississippiscv.org/MS_Units/14th_MS_Inf.htm

POW August 1, 1862, Camp Douglas.
Sent to Vicksburg Sept 2, 1862 to be exchanged.
Appointted member of the band Nov. 3, 1862.
June 1, 1863 Returned to his duty in company.
Oct. 31, 1863, lost 40 cartridges @25 cents each. (Something new I have never saw before)
May 19, 1865, surrenderred By Gen. Taylor. Roll is dated at Columbus, Miss.

I was mistaken abouit being a POW twice, my apologies.
