George, my guess, (and unfortunately that's all it is) would be that the
H. Chouteau carried those 347 men to Mobile. Based on other individuals' records, it seems this particular vessel made at least two trips transporting Vicksburg survivors - one carrying 347 men and another trip with 197 aboard.
Unless someone else knows where/how to locate the lists of names mentioned in the CSRs, then the documentation to prove/disprove that "guess" will go wanting.
