It possiby could be spelled either way and pronounced 'sha' My ancestor's name is spelled Micajah, and had a nickname of Cagey, but others have wrote about him, and his grandfather's marriage record (whom he was named after) has it spelled Micayah.

May not be the case here, but a possibility.
