Sorry Chuck, I don't have a clue regarding the Chessar's Store Affair.

There is an alternate death date in his CS records stating 20 Dec 1862, this appears in a report filed over a year later on 27 Dec 1863.

In my earlier post the death date, 17 Nov 1862, was provided in a List of Confederate soldiers who have died in the District of Central Kentucky dated 2 April 1863 in Lexington. The Medical Director, Surgeon Wm. H. DeCamp of Grand Rapids, Michigan did not specify the cause of death. This list also indicates GWA was captured at Chaplin Hills, KY.
