G. W. Anders service records indicate he transferred to CO B / 9th. Battalion Sharp Shooters and was wounded in a skirmish near Lawrenceburg 9 Oct 1862. He died 17 Nov 1862 at the General Hospital in Harrodsburg as a POW. Federal records show his unit as CO B / 1st. Miss. Regt. with 9th. Battn. SS penciled in on at least one of his cards.
