Jerry: After reviewing the all available POW and Confederate Death and Burials Records for Nashville I did not find a listing of death and burial for your inquiry. I did find a Sgt. David C. Myers, age 24, Co. B. 7th Mississippi Battalion mortally wounded at captured at Franklin, Tennessee and who died in a Nashville Prison Hospital on January 1, 1865. All Confederate and Federal Burials were originally buried in Nashville's Old City Cemetery. In 1866 the Federal Government established the Nashville National Cemetery and hired local Undertakers to remove all of the Federal Grave and move the remains to this new National Cemetery. Unfortunately, quite a few of the Southern Soldiers were mistakenly (or because of being paid per grave) were taken up and misidentified as Federal Soldiers. I have found Sgt. Myers buried as a Federal Soldier in the National Cemetery, Sectioin G. Grave #7341 Original burial information from records of Undertaker Wm. R. Cornelius of Nashville, Tennessee who had the Government Contract for burials of Confederate and Union Soldiers during the war (must have been very lucrative).

At present I have confirmed over two dozen of these CSA Soldiers likewise misidentified and reburied in the National Cemetery with approximately another 3 dozen being actively researched with strong confirmation pending.
