Alexander Austey Carter

According to the Civil War index maintained by the Alabama Archives and History, there is an Alexander Austey (sic) Carter listed. The remarks for his record are as follows:

"Remarks: not found on muster rolls of Co C, 4th (Love's) Alabama Cav for period Apr 1, 1864 to Sep 30, 1864 nor has any record been found of service, capture or parole as of that org or Co K, Jeff Davis Legion Miss Cav; Co transferred to Jeff Davis Legion"

"Remarks con't: By order dtd Jul 11 64 and became Co K of that org (no muster rolls on file); A. A. Carter enlisted at Brandon, served in Co D, 1st Battn, Miss Inf; one A. A. Carter enlisted at Rocky Ford, Miss served in Co H, 41st Miss Inf."

I am interested in learning more about this person. Is there more information about him? Did he receive a pension? Land?

Thanks,

David
