10th MS Infantry, 1861 Firing Squad Execution

Re: 10th Mississippi Infantry Regimant at Pensecola (summer of 1861 thru early 1862)... execution of Private Newton J. Mullin by Firing Squad.

The 10th Infantry Regiment was organized by April 1861 and subsequently sent to defend the Florida Coast near Pensecola oposite U.S. held Ft. Pickins. My g.g.g.grandfather John J. N. Nash, who was w/the 5th MS Inf at Pensecola had three first-cousins in the the 10th MS Regt: Orsamus L. Nash, Ben R. Nash and Newton J. Mullin.

Orsamus and Ben Nash (themselves first cousins) were witness to the execution of Newton Mullin in Nov of 1861.
