Re: John George Lipford
In Response To: John George Lipford ()

I found my Grandmother's bible and inscribed inside is the family group of George Lipford, Amanda Joyner Lipford, Alice Louisa Lipford, daughter, Georgia Ann Lipford, daughter, and Walter Lipford, son by 1st marriage.

It does not have their wedding date but I have hired a researcher in Marion County, Florida to find the exact date.
Also, there is an obituary clipping of John George Lipford's brother's child in Chester, SC.

I hope this provides proof enough that John George was married to my GGGrandmother, proof that the death date that Charlotte filed was incorrect, and proof that John George was alive up until the early 1880's.

I have 2 pictures of John George Lipford that I would be happy to share. I also have pictures of Charlotte Lipford and Amanda Lipford.

Finally, I mentioned earlier that his son, Walter, appeared on the 1880 census in Marion County, Florida living in the home of a Lipford/Carter relative very close to where my ggrandmother was living. I found Walter later (1900, 1910, etc) living in Montgomery, Alabama. I have suspected that after John George and Amanda split he may have taken Walter and moved towards Heard County, GA where many other Lipford family relatives were located. On the map, Montgomery, AL area borders Heard County, GA. I think we may be able to find JOhn George somewhere in those 2 areas. Georgia
