The age I used was from his enlistment with the 24 S.C.; I have found that the age at initial enlistment is often quite a bit off the mark. I certainly would trust the census over that estimate and intend to amend my sketch accordingly.

I don't recall if you stated it, or implied it, but Charlotte was apparently a widow. How much older than George was she, and did she have any children by her first marriage?
