Re: William Webb
In Response To: Re: William Webb ()

John, Nancy Webb was born 1820 of Joseph Webb and
Margaret unk, she married Winslow Rogers in 1840 Jackson Co Mo.
Winslow was a son of Thomas B Rogers and Penelope Chauncelor
of Spotsylvania Virginia.
The William Webb that we think was son of Joseph also Married
Mary Rogers, daughter of John M Rogers and Elizabeth Shingleton. William Webb was some 26 years older than Mary Rogers. John M Rogers would be a brother to Winslow. William Huston Webb married Mary Elizabeth
Baxter. (can not find marriage record on him) William Huston I believe is dead by the 1880 census for
Mary Elizabeth is listed as a widow will have to go back to the census to verify. Since Joseph had a son William born about the same time as Asa's first son William,
it is real confusing.
We also have a Nany Webb marrying an Oldham, but one writer
lists her father as Sam Coon. Haven't figured this one out yet.
I have some of the genealogy of Larkin Morris Webb line from
Giles Co Tennessee for I did work with Joanne Eakin and
David Owings who are descendents of Larkin Morris. We
thought that the lines were different but the DNA proved that they were related but still haven't figured out how.
One other clue that you gave me was that William sent his slave to Kentucky. William son of Joseph Webb inherited
his Father's slave Henry about 12 years old in 1861.
Asa did not own slaves. I really think that both Williams
served in the Calvary so it is hard to figure out which one
is which. But either way they are all related.
