Martin Trail lived at White Church, Kansas, but worked across the river in Kansas City, Missouri as a brick layer or stone mason. He had four girls in 1864, the oldest was my gt. grandmother. Trail was coming home to see his sick wife and daughters. The wife/mother died within weeks of Martin Trail's death. My gt. grandmother was given to a friend as was the second oldest. The other younger girls were raised by aunts and uncles in the White Church area .... I believe married in that area too.
