Centralia massacre and battle

We are still wrestling with identification, and numbers, of those killed in the Centralia affairs of 9-27-1864. Cross-indexing names found on Missouri Digital Heritage Civil War Soldiers, the National Park Service Civil War Soldiers and Sailors web site, Jefferson City National Cemetery name search, Find A Grave, and in various histories of Boone, Adair, Shelby and Marion Counties, Missouri, there seems little doubt that 123 members of the 39th Missouri Infantry were killed in the battle and we believe that the names of all, except perhaps one, can be verified. The question is the identification of two of twenty-three on the train who were killed. We have verified the names of seven 1st Iowa Cavalry soldiers,(Arnold, Carpenter, Dilley, Gore, Madera Russell and Williams) one each 23rd Iowa Infantry (Barnum) and 17th Illinois Cav.(Harvey) members, and eleven 1st Mo. Engineers men (Connor/Comer, Hildebiddle, Holly, Mobley, Pace, Peters, Robinson, Rose, Thomas, Thompson and Trail). In addition there was a german civilian in an army tunic (name unknown). If, as most of the accounts provide, 23 were shot in the massacre of those on the train, that leaves the identities of two of them unknown. We wonder if anyone has additional names.
Thanks, MCHS, Motgomery City, Missouri
