Joe Jolly I suspect is the brother Jo M Jolly(29) to John Jolly(30) who's father ran the ferry across the Lamine River at Jolly's ferry. He is found in Fairpoint, Lebanon Twsp, Cooper County household 432 in 1860 with John and a B F Jolly(28). Jolly's are mentioned in Cooper County history pg 191. Besides the ferry, the Jolly's also made gunpowder from a cave with saltpetre on their property in Saline twsp. Cooper Co. per the history. I can think of all sorts of reasons Jo Jolly may have been on a short list to kill by either side.
I'm still working on Cotty.
