Looking for regimental info

I have just written up for my family the history of an ancestor who served in Missouri (and briefly in Tennessee) in the Civil War. He was on active duty in the 43rd Regiment of Enrolled Missouri Militia from Aug. 8 to Nov. 8, 1862, and again from early September until late October of 1863. After than, he was on active duty with the 45th Regiment Infantry Volunteers from late August 1864 until his final discharge in early July 1865. For the last few months of that time (March to July), he likely was officially a member of the 50th Regiment Infantry Volunteers.

I feel confident I have obtained all available information about these regiments from the usual sources: Available muster lists from the state archives, all references to these regiments in the "Official Records" during the above-cited time frames, and the typically brief regimental histories accessible online at various Web sites. (I have one source that states specifically that the 43rd EMM was among the units that responded to Shelby's raid but no details about any such response.)

I am looking for such things as recollections or memoirs of individuals who served in these units at the stated time, or any other information that falls outside of the standard sources mentioned above. If someone can direct me to potentially productive newspaper archives to research, that would be appreciated too.
