Jim, thanks to you, and to Bruce again. I've looked all thru your great site and although I didn't find any of mine I read every link because the history is so interesting. I just wish someone had more on the Callaway County boys - it would have made our job a lot easier; although they went thru hell. I guess it all comes down to who were the heroes; I'd hate to find a deserter although I'd have to accept it. I noticed your last name; any relation to our Baker's of Prince Edward County, Virginia? Old Caleb Baker was a Quaker who was kicked out because of marriage outside of faith. He discovered and built the Kentucky-Tennessee long rifle - which is why we think our boys to this day love to hunt and fish. Thanks again, nellyb
