1st Lt. John A. Pond, Co. H., did enlist at Lebanon, MO. His name sounded familiar to me because he sent a letter into the Pension Com. for Pvt. Andrew Allen Biggs. {I have my GGF's Military Records & Pension Record to refer to.} Information taken from "The Civil War Letters of Albert Demuth and Rooster of 8th MO. Vol. Cavalry" book in my possession. I searched for the Z {?spelling slips me at the moment} B. Robinson and find no one with that name or initals on this Rooster. I've checked different variations of its spelling as well and still can not come up with a Z {?} B. Robinson. But, that doesn't mean to say as Solid Proof - He wasn't.
The letter is a "Treasure" for someone. Not sure this posting will help you, but when I saw "J. A. Pond" and the 8th MO. Vol. Cavalry mentioned, it rang a bell. Always on the 'Look-out' for anything on the 8th MO. Vol. Cavalry and the men who served. Take Care, Ralph Biggs [I am Kinship to -7- men of the 8th MO. Vol. Cavalry!] ** Mike, I use to live by a Hallmark family in Ada, OK. Henry & Inez Hallmark. By chance, any connection? Henry worked for "Trader Mills Co.", a feed store back in the 1940's & 50's.
