I work for the Bates County Historical Society/Museum and I frequently visit this site to learn more about Bates County's role in the War. Last week I read about the problems with Mr. Tabor's book and I alerted our publisher. I am pleased to advise you that the errors have been corrected and future printings will reflect this correction. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Mr. Tabor's book has been a primary source of information for many, and we are grateful for his excellent work in telling the story of the Skirmish at Island Mound. The Society is deeply indebted to Mr. Tabor for his generosity in giving us his book and we certainly want to do him the honor of publishing it correctly! Thank you, again, gentlemen.
