R.S. Taylor to S.S. Anderson...I report a large transport was captured at the Cane River and Red river intersection...the iron clad Eastport blown up and a small transport lashed to her side was destroyed with her. Two very fine pumps were removed from the lesser vessel.

Champion # 5 was a 184 ton vessel (lesser)
Champion # 3 was a 195 ton vessel (large)
From this insight, everything supports the Confederates side of the story.
