Col. Isaac Seymour

Some time ago, there were some posts regarding Col. Isaac Seymour's (6th La.) body being retrieved from Antietam's cornfield and buried. The query was when were the men able to retrieve the body (I've tried to find that message string but failed). I was rereading Cutrer and Parrish's "Brothers in Gray" and found this. It was written by Capt. Al Pierson of the 9th La. “They [La. Brigade] fought nearly the whole day and were twice repulsed but at night held the whole ground and the next day brought off their wounded & dead and buried the dead, removed the wounded over the river and sent them to Winchester.”
