Don't think I meant to make that intention. Agree that the Parishes in Louisiana had formal churches and such. I would suspect they would be the in the bigger Cities and Towns. What I was wondering for the small towns and hamlets, did they have lay ministers/priests/rabbis (forgot about the Jewish Faith in La) or circuit riding ministers/priests/rabbis that went to these smaller towns and hamlets to perform services.

An example, Winnsborough, Franklin Parish, the Parish Seat, had 3 ministers, one Baptist, one Presbryterian, and two Methodists. Red Mouth in same Parish had a Methodist Minister. These were the only ministers in the Parish.

Who provided services to the smaller towns and hamlets (Warsaw, Oakley, Prairie Beauef, etc)?
