Coming from a renowned flag historian like you, I really appreciate and respect your comments. They are much appreciated! I'm going to be going through all the N.O. papers for any other mentions of the Violett Guards under that name or their earlier name -- the Quitman Guards. But I won't have to worry about looking for a description of the flag.

By the way, I heard a couple of years ago that someone was working on a book of LA CS flags. Have you heard anything more about this? Was this your project? Just curious, as I'd LOVE to have a book on LA Confederate flags!!!
