Other than the "flag blessing" announcements that you found; I have discovered nothing in the way of a description of this flag.
I have been through all the war-time newspapers of New Orleans with out
any success.
Likewise with the manuscript collection of Tulane and LSU. A description
may be out there (somewhere) but it won't be easy to find.
