Re: Militia vs Volunteer Companies

Terry,

I will definitely give you a ring, do you prefer McDonald's or Burger King? ;-)

I know about Sol Rosenberg's book. Mr. Rosenberg's story is almost unbelievable. As I recall, he was first sent to the Treblinka extermination camp, where over one million were killed. He escaped from Treblinka and made his way to Warsaw. He participated in the Warsaw uprising, where he was captured. He was then sent to Auschwitz, the most famous/infamous of all the concentration camps and he survived the war there.

He then came to Louisiana, penniless, with his wife, also a concentration camp survivor and setup a metalworking business in buildings abandoned by the military after the war. His business, Sol's Pipe and Steel is now the largest provider of provider of steel plate and sheet metal in North Louisiana and the "single-seam" pipe business is one of the largest in the South.

I hope I got all of that right.

We lost Mr. Rosenberg last year tragically after a long battle with cancer. He was an amazing man and a real story of the triumph of the human spirit and the promise of America.

See you soon.

Jim
