The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Militia vs Volunteer Companies

Ya'll are, of course, correct and I meant Jackson Barracks. There is a published sourced called "Adjutant General's Report, State of Louisiana" (New Orleans, 1890) that lists all of the state's Civil War regiments with number of members, etc. I also used the annual reports published in the early 20th century when I was doing some research on the state militia/National Guard at Camp Beauregard. It's been a long time, but I think I found these published reports in the LSU Library. There must have been annual reports before the war that might list the militia companies but I don't know if the state published them in book form like it did later.
