Mr Holloway

Your response is very helpful. If I remember correctly, Steve Mayeux indicated that his Father had found a citation on a Camp Pratt grave number that was Steve's GGrgrandfather or other Mayeux relative that died at Camp Pratt and was buried there. They do not now have the sorce and do not know where the relative is buried, other than that it was at Camp Pratt.

The twin brother (David Rogers of Co E, 2nd LA Cavalry) of my GGgrandfather (Jonathan Rogers of Co E, 2nd LC) died in the New Iberia Central Hospital (Confederate?) on January 5, 1863 and was buried somewhere in the New Iberia area. As you have suggested, I suspect that he was buried in or close to New Iberia in a Confederate cemetery, but the location is a mystery. I suspect that there was no headstone placed at the time, although his twin brother almost certainly knew where David was buried. There is no family information on the burial site. We did not, in fact, know where or how he died until August of 2009, when I located and obtained a new primary source which contained the information I now have.

Thanks again for your very helpful reply.
