Re: Dulcito Plantation - Confederate Hospital

Here are the only two Norris men with Ragsdale.

Emile Norris, 20 year old Farmer, born in St. Martin County, La., enlisted as a Corporal April 10, 1864 in (2nd) Company A, Daly's Battalion Texas Mounted Troops in Calcasieu Parish, transferred to his original command Yellow Jacket Battalion November 22, 1864, his file contains a note in the War Department's Adjutant General's Office re communication with the Louisiana State Board of Pension Commissioners dated February 23, 1915, this would indicate either he or his widow filed for a Confederate pension

Ragsdale's Battalion Texas Cavalry was organized in October, 1862, and was known at various times as the 4th Battalion Arizona Brigade, the 3rd Battalion Arizona Brigade, the 1st Battalion Arizona Brigade, Davidson's Battalion Texas Cavalry, and Daly's Battalion Texas Cavarly

............

Corporal/Private Traville Norris, Company A, Ragsdale's Battalion, Texas Cavalry is recorded as absent with leave on the regimental return of January 1865, AWOL & detained by high water on the February RR, resident of Calcasieu Parish, La., no further records
