Not included is Joe Spaniard. I'm not sure where he fits but he apparently accompanied the military escort for the survey of the southern boundary of Kansas in 1859. Joseph E. Johnston was the commander and his journal is on the KSHS site -- KHQ article. What I remember about him specifically, since it was what I was looking for at the time, is he guided them on a 'secondary road' from Keys' Settlement on the Caney to the Texas Road (Ft Scott-Ft Gibson Road) and to Hudson's Crossing on the Neosho. Jayhawkers raided Keys' Settlement in Nov-Dec 1861 and were chased out of the Cherokee Nation by Drew's Regiment which was headquartered at Coody's Bluff at the time -- before Chusto Talasah.
