I agree w/you it may be virtually impossible as to who the last surviving Georgian or Confederate was. William Joshua Bush is a good candidate to be the
last surviving Georgian. His record of service w/14th GA INF was brief. He references service in the 1864 Battle of Atlanta. His pension application states
he was in the state militia at the time the war ended in 1865. However, I have seen an interview w/Bush where he gives a pretty convincing account of the
fight @ Gettysburg (1863). The 14th GA was @ Gettysburg, but the Compiled Service Records do not support Bush being with the 14th GA beyond 1861.
