James Leckie, my great grandfather, served with the well traveled 27th GA Inf. , Co. D. along with 2 of his brothers in law. Simpson Kizer and Jackson Gaines. John F Leckie served with the 43rd GA Inf., Co. F. Kerr Stewart Leckie and William Leckie served with the 14th Battalion, GA Lt. Artillery, Co. D. Sandy enlisted in Athens, GA. 7 Mar 1862 by Lt. Ritch. The Jan/Feb muster roll shows Sandy on horse detail to Georgia Feb. 23, 1864(this of course is on the web site). I have a picture of him with other family members if you are interested, but it was taken about 1900.
