Thanks George, I had it figured that he was wounded somewhere around Dalton, possibly at Rocky Face Ridge because of the date on his head stone. Which states he was wounded on May 9th. I orginally thought of Resaca but due to the date of his wound I assumed it was earlier than Resaca. If his family traveled to Dalton to get him, that was a long trip unless he was sent by train to LaGrange.
Even LaGrange would have meant his family had to go the 14 miles or so to get him and imagine the wagon trip for even the 14 miles from LaGrange. It had to be a terrible ride especially for someone who was wounded as he was. Not to even mention if they had to go all the way to Dalton, which would be around 150 miles or so, now imagine that trip in a wagon. Thanks again. tom
