Are you certain this man lived in Georgia at the time of the Civil War? I cannot locate him on the census after 1850, but find no Cameron men living in Franklin County GA in 1860.

I cannot understand why a Georgia resident who wanted to join the Confederate army would buy a railway ticket for passage to Memphis TN. Why not travel to Atlanta or Augusta or Savannah or Macon or Columbus GA? What exactly is a troop rally train? Are you saying that he was kidnapped and taken to Memphis for induction into the army?
