You are correct,the Charleston Depot flags do have stars on both sides. As far as the Department of Alabama, Mississippi and East Louisana (aka Mobile Depot) flags most have stars on one side with the blue cut out on the reverse to reveal an smaller star. However, there are exceptions, like the flag of the 6th Alabama Cavalry which has stars sewn to both sides even though the blue was cut out. It also has a cotton pole sleeve. As you know, because of this I suspect that this is a Cameron flag rather than one made by the Belknaps. You and Ben are right as far as I know about the ANV flags. I have been working with flags for 35 years and I have never seen one with stars on one side only.
