Re: Flags of the 60th & 61st Tennessee

Thanks so much Greg ! I wasn't aware of this book. Hope it's still in print.

A few ancestor/ relatives with Vaughn's Brigade at Vicksburg :

60th Tennessee, Company E :

Brothers, John, Thomas, Montgomery, and Richard Copass. John & Richard were captured at Black River Bridge. John died at Fort Delaware, Richard died at Johnson's Island.

61st Tennessee Company B :

Private Henry Blakely, was paroled at Vicksburg. He soon became ill and was hospitalized in Mobile Alabama. He died there in August. His older brother, William and William's son, James were in the Union 1st Tennessee Cavalry. Another brother, Jackson, was in the Union 8th Tennessee Cavalry. He died a P.O.W. at Danville, Virginia.

62nd Tennessee Company A William Land, paroled at Vicksburg, never rejoined the Army, "AWOL paroled in enemy lines in East Tenn." Following the war William left for Texas.
