Hello,

I have a file on this battle and the Confederates lost two flags there:

8th Mississippi Cavalry to the 14th Wisconsin Infantry (the 33rd Missouri shot the colors down but the 14th got them)

This flag is in the collections of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.

6th Mississippi Cavalry by the 33rd Missouri Infantry.

This flag is missing - as is the Arkansas unit flag the same regiment captured at Helena, Arkansas (July 1863) - that of the 39th Arkansas. It too is missing but was sent back to the St. Louis Mercantile Exchange during the war after Helena. That may have happened with the Mississippi flag as well.
