Here is a link that I found after reading an article from the latest issue of Blue and Gray the Tupelo Campaign stating that the colors of the 8th Mississippi Cavalry, under Forrest, were captured by a Wisconsin regiment. Though there is a great deal of debate over who captured the colors because of the ambush.
