Van Dorn Flag of the 15th (NW) Arkansas Infantry

The Van Dorn flag of the 15th (NW) Arkansas is unique in that it is the only flag of this pattern that has both a unit designation and battle honours applied to it. Madaus, in The Battle Flags of the Confederate Army of Tennessee, p. 43, mentions that the lettering was applied in white cotton. However, neither he nor any other of the sources indicate whether this feature appeared on both sides of the flag or only on the obverse side. I suspect that the reverse side did not have any lettering at all, but does anyone have any further knowledge that could confirm this one way or the other?
