Hello EJ,

I would change your arrangement of the battle honours. On both sides SOUTH MOUNTAIN is placed above the upper right bar of the flag; LEE'S FARM is located below the upper left bar; SHARPSBURG is above the lower right bar; and FREDERICKSBURG is at the bottom of the lower quadrant. Their is no battle honour next to the lower left bar on the obverse side of the flag, so it can be assumed that there was no battle next to the missing lower left reverse side bar.

If there was a battle honour at the top I suspect it was for MALVERN HILL, where the 15th NC had casualties of 21 killed and 110 wounded.

A view of the reverse side of this flag can be seen in the Museum of the Confederacy's PDF of their flag collection. Just scroll down to WD 415.

I will try to send you my images of the flags ASAP, but I am suffering from some e-mail problems that have to be figured out first.

Ryan
