Re: Flags in Maryland Old Soldiers' Home

After the evacuation of Charleston and the move into NC with remnants of the Army of Tennessee, CS signal units were scattered, and many detailed EM were returned to their units. There obviously wasn't much good news to signal, and, if there were operational signals involved at Bentonville, I haven't caught the information. I'm afraid that my notion is that "There's not a man to wave it," referring, in that case, to the "bonnie white flag that bears a single square." On the other hand, with Scott Daley as the Confederate chief signal officer, I'm confident that there will be a visible presence for the 145th anniversary, and a memorial to the spirits of the men who had waved the flags and torches for a good three years. There should be a goodly turn-out of signalmen in blue, for they were around until the end, but I don't know if Scott will plan to galvanize. (Thanks for the links, by the way.)
