Thanks for the pics Jerry. Apparently John has it nailed. Because it apears to have a bore of 6 to 8 inches judging from the pallet lumber and the 2 inch gas pipe running down the building beside it. Mighty big breech to be a field piece. Looks kinda like a small Columbiad. The detail pic with the cast in lettering.....is that on the breech? I was trying to determine if that "fixture" is a sight mount. Send the pics to John and let him review them. Interesting piece. Thanks for sharing.
