I agree, why change it. they played a very important role in our history, and they were all men of honor, but to the over educated liberals, no man can have honor if the fought for the Confederacy. They were people of their times. what I cannot get is the hypocrisy that they have, they idolize the criminal John Brown and sing his praises, and he declared war against the United States Army. have you read the Memoirs of Robert E Lee. It is not the Lost Cause tribe that so many make it out to be. It showed that the man was human like the rest of us, but a man of principle. HE opposed Secession, he personally did not like slavery, yet he had slaves and used them and benefitted from them. He did have compassion for them. His personal letter to his son, clearly shows that. He agonized over the decision. John Brown, could have cared less about anyone's life. He was a murderer, an insurrectionist, a hard and fiery man. The other Generals all had qualities that are great examples and were remembered to motivate soldiers. Our ignorant over educated liberals cannot fathom why the US would honor, enemies of the United States, and cannot understand that the South was actually trying to do the same thing, they were trying to preserve the "OLD US" not the one they were making it out to be.

I can understand why they like John Brown, but he is an example of what not to be. an now George Floyd is a hero, and the Rioters in the Summer of 2020 are heroes but the January 6 are criminals, whose crimes are all the same, only the target was the Federal government and not local government?

My biggest beef about all this is the legislature is usurping the US Constitution and meddling with the Military, when they have no business or authority of doing it. They, like the Party of Lincoln, viewed that the Constitution gave the Federal Government the right to do anything they see fit to do, because they want it.
George thank you for your service in the Navy. I am like you, I thought the Boxer ships and boats were named for the Boxer Rebellion. The Navy and Coast Guard, I did not have much contact with other than medical personnel. I had friends and family who were in the Navy. The medical folks who patched me up in Kuwait, and who supported us at Al Asad Airbase were First rate.
