Re: Isaac B. Reid 15th Arkansas Infantry

With three 15th Arkansas Infantry organizations, I've had my share of "yikes" moments myself!

In this case, Isaac B. Reed's record is found in a fourth 15th Arkansas category -- a generic catch-all 15th Arkansas Regiment that includes records of men whose don't fit into the three "real" 15th Arkansas Regiments.

His POW record through the U.S. military prison system identifies him as a private of Co. G, Hill's Arkansas Regiment, up until his release under an oath of allegiance, in which his unit is identified as Co. G, 15th Arkansas Regiment. This last record is obviously an error of some sort, since he was consistently reported in Hill's Arkansas Regiment up until his release.

I believe he was a member of Col. John F. Hill's 7th Arkansas Regiment Cavalry. He identified his residence as Berryville, Carroll County, Arkansas. What the erroneous 15th Arkansas record is all about, I have no idea.
