Re: Isaac B. Reid 15th Arkansas Infantry

Ok that falls in to place. This 15th was captured at Port Hudson and after exchange consolidated with Dockery's 19th and later, the 20th Ark Inf to form the 3rd Ark Consolidated Inf under Col H G P Williams. Since the units of Dockery's brigade were mounted (18, 19, 20 Ark Inf and 12 Sharpshooters all remnants after Port Hudson) makes sense. Guess the 15th (Gee/Johnson) would fall under the 19th. This also explains who fought at Jenkins Ferry as Dockery's Dismounted Casuals. Seems Dockery was given command of the remnants of these commands and about half were mounted and the other half(about 400) dismounted and served as infantry. Appears he was with the mounted portion. When the 19 and 15 were consolidated, they were allowed to retain their unit designation, hence he never felt he was out of the 15th Arkansas and that is probably why he gave that as his regiment when captured.
