Yes, it would be nice to get this type of miscarriage of history stopped. I hope the archaeologist and a museum make an example of this iron ball's death by displaying it and let a large number of folks see what happened here. I hope they run a metallurgy test on one of the pieces, its composition may help date it and give an idea as to its use and time spent under ground. Down the road I would like to look it over. I could write a paper on properly defusing, but that would probably only end in trouble down the line. So I will keep it to myself and my forty acres.
